The Indo-Gothic Architecture

The building is constructed of red Seoni sandstone and white stone trimmings, displaying a striking fusion of European Gothic and Indian Mughal elements:

  • The Windows: Tall lancet windows with stone tracery work and pointed arches.
  • The Domes: Beautiful ribbed domes and minarets that reflect Indian temple and mosque designs.
  • The Interiors: High ceilings, wood-carved doors, and a spacious central assembly hall.

The Clock Tower and Public Library

  • The Clock Tower: A central, 4-story clock tower stands high over the building. The historic mechanical clock still chimes on the hour.
